Working Waterfront is an insider’s view of the world of seafood from deck to dining table. The New England Waterfront borders the Gulf of Maine and Georges Bank — one of the most important, vibrant, and productive of the world’s fishing ground.
Thanks to Bill Gerencer, the proceeds from the purchase of signed copies of Working the Waterfront from us will support the work of Rebirth Inc. Mr. Gerncer joined us at the Rebirth Inc celebrate of our owner Janet W.Jones on August 23rd and visited our store to make this generous gift to our hosting organization of the tribute. We love his connection to Michigan and his love for Jazz music.
Bill Gerencer is a 44 year veteran of the New England Working Waterfront. Bill worked as a lobsterman, and commercial fisherman in the Gulf of Maine and on Georges Bank–one of the most important, and productive fishing grounds in the world.
He is currently retired and employed part-time at an oyster farm, works as a seafood consultant, and author.
